HIGHLAND, Calif. (May 25, 2023) A 600-foot tunnel leads to the control room beneath Seven Oaks Dam, a 550-foot high earth and rock fill embankment dam across the Santa Ana River. The dam was built between 1993 and 2000 in response to major floods in the mid–20th century and provides both groundwater recharge and flood protection to the San Ana River Mainstem Project area of Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
