BIG BEAR LAKE, Calif (May 22, 2018) A carved bear wears a light coat of snow outside Hillcrest Lodge along Hwy. 18 in Big Bear Lake early Thursday, May 22, 2008 in San Bernardino Mountains. Cool temperatures and early morning precipitation combined to bring a surprise light snowfall to the area. (Greg Vojtko/The Press-Enterprise)

Going back through more old pictures, I found this one I really enjoyed from 10 years ago. A late May snowstorm surprised everyone, including this carved bear at the entrance to a business in Big Bear Lake. I wouldn’t mind being pleasantly surprised by a healthy snowfall this year, it’s about time we started getting some snow this year.
