Memorial Day: Remembering Those Who Died While Serving Our Country

Each year on Memorial Day I try to visit a national cemetery, whether I am at home on the road. This year I trekked out to Los Angeles National Cemetery for their annual event.

LOS ANGELES, Calif (May 29, 2017) Headstone marking the final resting place of U.S. Army Sgt. Myles D. Penix is adorned with flowers during the 2017 Los Angeles National Cemetery Memorial Day Program. Penix, 27, of Inglewood, Calif., was allegedly shot and killed by a comrade at a house near Fort Bragg in North Carolina. Police arrested Ryan Daniel Walker, 24, and charged him with first-degree murder.
